Welcome Week*
Welcome Week will begin one week before classes. Students will be introduced to the Orientation Team Leaders and Peer Mentors, as soon as they step onto campus. Students are divided into teams based on their LAS100 class section. Students create lasting friendships in their Orientation Team and we hope you do too!
There are many Welcome Week traditions and we don’t want you to miss any of them!
• Dinner & Book Discussion
• Cedar Point Amusement Park
• CloseUP Theatre Troupe
Please see the below PDF document for the complete welcome week schedule!

DINNER & BOOK DISCUSSION
One aspect of Welcome Week is our Dinner & Book Discussion—a program very unique to Siena Heights University. When you come to visit us in the Summer for a Siena Heights Orientation (SHO) Day, you will be given a book that is our Common Read for the University (at no additional cost).
During Welcome Week, you will be invited to a Faculty/Staff members house for dinner where you will discuss the book with your Orientation Team and First Year Experience Instructor of your LAS100 class.
CEDAR POINT AMUSEMENT PARK
This year's Freshman trip is to Cedar Point Amusement Park, located on the Cedar Point peninsula on Lake Erie near Sandusky, Ohio. Cedar Point is the second oldest operating amusement park in the U.S. and the roller coaster capital of the world!
CLOSEUP THEATRE TROUPE
CloseUP is a student group from Eastern Michigan University that uses theatre as a vehicle for exploring relevant health and social issues and informing audiences about the resources available to address them. Such theatre is intended to evoke dialogue, questioning, reflection and productive life choices.
*Welcome Week is required for all first-year students.
